Master Gardeners’ Info Table–Chihuahuan Desert Fiesta at the Zoo

September 25, 2021 @ 10:30 am - 3:00 pm

Eastside Disc Nursery Info Table

Plant questions? El Paso Master Gardeners have the answers! Join us on September 25th at our Information Table at the 17th annual Chihuahuan Desert Fiesta at the El Paso Zoo and Botanical Gardens to help celebrate their new Chihuahuan Desert exhibit. Our educational table is part of the Zoo’s activities which include animal encounters, entertainment, and discovery tables with local organizations and conservation programs.

At our Information Table you can ask gardening and landscape questions and pick up free gardening brochures. Our focus this day will be on Chihuahuan Desert native plants, regional trees, and wildflowers. There’ll also be a trivia game for children on insects and plants.

Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service training provides El Paso County Master Gardeners with research-based horticulture information and resources as a foundation for their wide range of experiences in gardening in the El Paso. Certified Master Gardeners and Master Gardener Interns share that knowledge with members of the community who visit our Information Tables at many public events throughout the year. The Information Tables are stocked with a wealth of free publications on growing vegetables, gardening, and landscaping.

Be on the lookout, too, for the El Paso Gardening Handbook created by El Paso County Master Gardeners for our area. It addresses El Paso specific gardening concerns and best practices.

We look forward to seeing you at our Information Table.
