The 24nd Annual Hill Country Lawn and Garden Show, sponsored by the Highland Lakes Master Gardeners will be held Saturday, March 30, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Burnet County Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Office located at 607 North Vandeveer, in Burnet, Texas. This is the largest yearly fund raiser for the nonprofit focusing on community projects around the Central Texas Area. The free event has indoor and outdoor activities. The day is filled with over 35 artisans and garden vendors offering all types of plants, along with garden and outdoor inspired products and services. A bluebonnet-inspired donation quilt will be on display. A well-known silent auction will be back this year with new and repurposed items. There will be food, gardening demonstrations and a kids’ booth with hand on projects. Free eclipse glasses will be handed out while supplies last. Join us for the Dallas County Master Gardener Association 2024 Garden Tour featuring 5 private home gardens and a public demonstration garden, as well as a new concept to the tour this year – two “bonus” pass-by gardens that are just too packed full of native and adaptive botanical marvels to leave out. The East Dallas/Old Lake Highlands area was selected for this year’s tour as a prime location for showcasing the natural beauty of the surrounding areas of Dallas’ “hidden gem,” White Rock Lake. Trained docents and expert speakers will be on hand at each featured garden answering questions and giving advice. Topics will include propagation, native plant selection, gardening with shade, composting and “winged things,” to name a few.
Tickets are available for $18 in advance or $22 at the door.
