Nicky received her degree in horticulture and landscape design from the University of Guelph. Following moves from her homeland in Alberta, Canada, to Lima, Peru, and then to Texas, she obtained certification as a Texas Master Gardener in 2012. Exploring diverse growing zones has been an enjoyable adventure for her. Nicky served for five years on the TMGA Executive Committee before assuming roles in the state office in 2016. Currently serving as the state VMS Administrator, conference chair, Advanced Training coordinator, content creator and other capacities, she plays a pivotal role in enhancing best practices and knowledge across the state.
Nicky is an adrenaline junkie and animal advocate, she enjoys wing-walking and hanging out with her herd of donkeys. She loves working in her expansive Zone 7 gardens, deep in the verdant, rolling hills of Virginia. These gardens showcase over 5500 flowering bulbs and more than 100 azaleas. With a five-year plan in mind, she is dedicated to eradicating invasives and transitioning to a more native landscape.

Ally Wittig is a program coordinator for Texas Master Gardener and Junior Master Gardener organizations. She is a proud graduate of Texas A&M University and was inspired to pursue a career in garden programming after combining the three things she loves: God, people, and nature! Ally loves trying new things but errs on the side of caution! Painting is one of her hobbies that allows her to lose track of time the most but must be acrylic/watercolor!
