Micro Grant Program

The Texas Master Gardener Association allocates funds for micro grants to any Texas Master Gardener Association needing assistance with funding impactful educational projects having realistic goals and significant benefit to the community.

Associations submitting requests must complete the questions on the application via Google Forms using the link below. The application must be submitted by a Master Gardener Coordinator (agent).

Applications are limited to one per county. Any association receiving a grant is not eligible for funding for two years following the year in which the project was completed.

Once a county is selected a contract must be signed agreeing to submit a summary report including photos and the target audience to be served by this project with quantifiable data as well as educational impact.

Funds will be disbursed to the participating association and cannot be directed to an individual. Projects must be completed within six months of receiving the funds. A one-time extension for an additional three months may be granted. Any unused funds after this period must be returned to the TMGA.

Applications will be reviewed by the Scholarship and Grants Committee and determination of grant recipients will be based on completeness of all answers and measurable educational impact.

Questions regarding the application process can be directed to [email protected].

There are six (6) grants available at $500 each.

Examples of projects that can be funded with a grant:

· Personal computer for an active speaker’s bureau
· Establishing a community garden
· Creating a Junior Master Gardener™ program at a local library
· Replace or build raised beds at demonstration gardens
· Irrigation repair or replacement at existing demonstration gardens

The grant submission period for 2025 is open from September 1-October 15, 2025. Grants will be decided by November 30, 2025.
