We are so excited to announce Mornings at the Market. We will be at Angelina County Farmers Market on Saturday June 15th, from 9:00 a.m. to Noon. Angelina Master Gardeners will be sharing gardening information at the greenhouse in the Angelina County Farmers Market at 2107 S. Medford Drive in Lufkin. You may bring your gardening questions and we will provide information on summer vegetables, propagating roses, and a children’s activity. Mornings at the Market will be held on the third Saturday of May through September. Come see us!

This is the largest plant sale in Collin County, and this most anticipated spring event will be held in the Show Barn at beautiful Myers Park & Event Center in McKinney. Proceeds from the sale benefit CCMGA’s community outreach programs, horticultural education programs, workshops, and water conservation education throughout Collin County.

CCMGA has carefully sourced a collection of locally grown drought-tolerant plants that are well suited to our climate and will perform well in North Texas gardens.

The 24nd Annual Hill Country Lawn and Garden Show, sponsored by the Highland Lakes Master Gardeners will be held Saturday, March 30, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Burnet County Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Office located at 607 North Vandeveer, in Burnet, Texas. This is the largest yearly fund raiser for the nonprofit focusing on community projects around the Central Texas Area. The free event has indoor and outdoor activities. The day is filled with over 35 artisans and garden vendors offering all types of plants, along with garden and outdoor inspired products and services. A bluebonnet-inspired donation quilt will be on display. A well-known silent auction will be back this year with new and repurposed items. There will be food, gardening demonstrations and a kids’ booth with hand on projects. Free eclipse glasses will be handed out while supplies last. Join us for the Dallas County Master Gardener Association 2024 Garden Tour featuring 5 private home gardens and a public demonstration garden, as well as a new concept to the tour this year – two “bonus” pass-by gardens that are just too packed full of native and adaptive botanical marvels to leave out. The East Dallas/Old Lake Highlands area was selected for this year’s tour as a prime location for showcasing the natural beauty of the surrounding areas of Dallas’ “hidden gem,” White Rock Lake. Trained docents and expert speakers will be on hand at each featured garden answering questions and giving advice. Topics will include propagation, native plant selection, gardening with shade, composting and “winged things,” to name a few.
Tickets are available for $18 in advance or $22 at the door.

Texas A&M AgriLife Extension-Travis County kicks off the 2024 Texas Tough Plants webinar series with Native and Adapted Plants for Central Texas and Wild About Plants, February 21st, 10 am to noon.
Skip Richter, Texas AgriLife Extension Service Horticulturist (retired) and host of GardenLine on KTRH 740 AM, will discuss some of the best native and adapted plants for creating a beautiful landscape in central Texas that can tolerate extremes of heat and cold, drought and deluge.
Denise Delaney, the City of Austin Watershed Protection Department’s Acting Education Program Manager, will follow with Wild About Plants and tell us more about the Grow Green program philosophy of using the right plant in the right place. The program utilizes a webinar format.
