This Month’s Story Time Book

Join El Paso Master Gardener Simon Chandler on October 2 on Zoom (web link below) for our fun, live book reading. For this month’s Read & Grow with Master Gardeners book, we have selected The Very Busy Spider by Eric Carle (author and illustrator). The book is about a spider who is blown by the wind to a fencepost near a farmyard. She begins to build her web and cannot be distracted from the task at hand — not by the horse, cow, sheep, goat, or dog. But when the rooster asks if she wants to catch a pesky fly, the busy spider can catch it in her web immediately!

El Paso County Master Gardener Presenters

Simon Chandler is originally from England. He arrived in the border region in the early 1990s and has lived and worked in both El Paso and Ciudad Juarez. Simon is an educator and currently works with El Paso ISD Community Schools Program and Segundo Barrio Futbol Club. He has two grown-up sons and enjoys hiking, reading, and cooking.
