El Paso Water and El Paso Master Gardeners have created a series of Water Conservation workshops we’ve nicknamed our GROWS talks. GROWS is an acronym for Gardening Resources Outreach Workshops and Seminars. We provide a variety of research-based resources for creating healthy, water-conserving gardens.
El Paso soils vary depending on where you live. Your garden soil might be sandy loam, clay, rocky, or stubborn caliche. This course will help you understand how composting helps you improve your garden soil and conserve water and energy. Find out how composting helps the environment, saves you money, and conserves water. Eduardo Rascon, the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Agent-Horticulture, will show you the basics of composting and troubleshoot common issues so you can see how to make composting work for you!

Eduardo Rascon is currently serving as the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Agent-Horticulture and is in charge of Urban Programs. He also acts as an adviser to the Executive Committee for the El Paso County Master Gardeners Association.
