Each year, Lake Granbury Master Gardeners offers two $2,000 scholarships to students who are attending or will attend an accredited Texas college or university and major in horticulture or another agriculture-related field.
Administration
General administration of this scholarship program is under the direction of the Lake Granbury Master Gardeners Scholarship Committee. The committee members screen all applications and select the recipients. All applicants will be notified as soon as possible after receipt of the application if they were or were not selected as scholarship recipients. Applicants may be requested to interview with the committee.
Allocation
A maximum of $2,000 is allocated per person for a one (1) year scholarship: $1,000 per semester will be awarded beginning in the fall semester.
Qualification
The applicant must be a high school or college student with a GPA of 2.5 or higher. All applicants must intend to major in horticulture, agriculture or a related field. Scholarships will be given to students from Hood County who are attending or plan to attend a college or university within the state of Texas.

Instructions:
- The applicant must use our scholarship application form and submit with this form the most recent high school or college transcript. Contact your school early to ensure the transcript is received in time to mail with this application.
- The applicant must be recommended in writing by three people who have known the applicant for the past two years such as: teacher, counselor, club advisor, church leader or employer.
- Completed applications must be received in the Lake Granbury Master Gardeners/Hood County Extension Services AgriLife office, 1410 W. Pearl St., Rm. 22, Granbury, TX 76048 by Monday, April 14, 2025.
Second semester qualification:
Submit by December 30, a copy of pre-enrollment showing a minimum of 12 semester hours plus the related invoice and a copy of grades showing a GPA of 2.5 or higher for the previous semester.
