Nacogdoches County Master Gardeners present “Explore the World of Fruit Trees” Native and Nonnative, with guest Dr. Andrew King.

Dr. King is the Assistant Director of SFA Gardens at Stephen F. Austin State University and owner/operator of King’s Nursery in Tenaha, a 4th generation family-owned nursery in East Texas since 1915. Upon completion of a B.S. in Horticulture at SFA, King continued his education at Texas A&M, earned an M.S. and PhD, both in Horticulture. After teaching Horticulture at A&M for five years, Dr. King returned to East Texas to take his turn at operating King’s Nursery and join the staff at his alma mater, SFA, to work with the SFA Gardens.

Topics to be covered include: mayhaws, pawpaws, plums, persimmons, apples, pears, peaches, and pomegranates sprinkled with humor and King family traditions along the way.

The event is free and open to the public with refreshments provided. Please call 936-560-7711 to reserve a seat.
