This year we will be showcasing some of our own Extension Master Gardener demonstration and project gardens. We reached out to all association presidents to ask for participation. Extension Master Gardeners are always curious and inspired to see what others are doing across the state.
We will be presenting 10-12 gardens based on the submissions received. You won’t want to miss these fantastic snapshots into the great work that our volunteers are doing across Texas!
Additionally, we will be hosting a Q&A panel so conference attendees can ask questions and learn directly from the Extension Master Gardeners who serve on these projects.
Some of the information addressed will be:
- How did the garden get started?
- Who is the primary audience and how many people visit the garden?
- How has the garden changed or evolved?
- What is the most unique aspect or feature of the garden?
- How do you use the garden to educate the public?
- How many EMGs does it take to maintain the garden?
- How many hours of service are conducted in the garden?
- Does the effort (service hours and dollars spent) reasonably align with the number of visitors and learning experiences that come from the garden?
