SCMG at the Library – “The Hole Truth: The Woodpeckers of East Texas”

Greg Grant, Smith County horticulturist for the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service in Tyler will talk about our 8 species of native woodpeckers and how important they are as keystone species in our landscapes. In addition to controlling tree killing insects, they also provide critical homes for secondary cavity dwellers like bluebirds, chickadees, nuthatches, and titmice.
