Vegetable Garden Series: Spring Vegetables

Galveston County Master Gardener Gene Speller will present basic information on how to plan a vegetable garden that works best for you. He will also include a brief discussion of “Fun Facts and Tips” for growing 10 popular Spring Vegetables in Galveston County (Tomatoes, Chili Peppers, Green Beans, Sweet Corn, Cucumbers, Squash, Okra, Eggplant, Irish Potatoes, and Carrots). Additionally, this program includes a discussion of applicable Integrated Pest Management (IPM) methods.

Veggie Garden Series: Spring Vegetables

Galveston County Master Gardener Kevin Lancon will share his wealth of knowledge of hands-on experience growing vegetables. Topics will include how to plan and plant a spring vegetable garden that works best for you, and selecting the best varieties for Galveston County. We will also discuss pollination, mulching, the effects of full sun and shade on leafy and fruiting vegetables, and we will share more detailed information on some of the more popular spring vegetables for our area.
