Louisiana Iris

Galveston County Master Gardener Monica Martens (Ed.D.) explores growing Louisiana iris. The program presents species and hybrid types for our region, including cultivation information, how to obtain Louisiana iris and share them. You will also learn about our special collection with a tour at the Discovery Garden.

Presentation: 9am – 10am

Touring the irises in the garden: 10am – 10:30am

Enjoy the Discovery Garden and ask additional questions about irises: until Noon

***NOTE LOCATION: Master Gardener Discovery Garden in Carbide Park, 4102 Main St (FM519), La Marque, 77568***

Open Garden Day: Garden with the Masters and Louisiana Iris

The Galveston County Master Gardeners’ Discovery Garden will be open to the public on Saturday, April 22 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.  Iris enthusiast and Galveston County Master Gardener Monica Martens (Ed.D.) will be on-site to chat and answer any questions you may have about Louisiana Iris.

***Location – Master Gardener Discovery Garden in Carbide Park, 4102 Main St, La Marque, TX 77568***
