A Sign of Spring:

Don’t Miss the CCMGA Garden Show 2024

by Dawn Oldfield, CCMGA Public Relations Chairperson

Save the date for The Garden Show 2024, presented by the Collin County Master Gardeners Association.  It’s what a garden show should be! There is no better place than The Garden Show to learn about North Texas Gardening and Earth-Kind® gardening principles. Collin County’s most prestigious garden show will take place on March 16 & 17, 2024 in The Show Barn at beautiful Myers Park & Event Center in McKinney, Texas.

For garden lovers it’s a great day out to immerse themselves in timely tips for successful gardening, informative demonstrations and presentations, local vendors, and fun activities for the entire family – including scavenger hunts for the kids! There will be free special give-a-ways at the stage that you won’t want to miss! Custom made Blue Bird Boxes, Garden Hand Carts, Gift Cards, and more!

Browse through over 70 hand-picked local, garden-related vendors featuring plants and appealing garden and gift items and attend lectures presented by experts in horticulture on a variety of topics. Saturday’s schedule includes “Earth-Kind ® Turf Talk- 11AM”, “Let’s Talk Birdie: Creating a Feather-Friendly Fly Zone-12:30PM”, “Upgrading Your Builder Grade Landscape – 2PM”, and always a favorite “Tomato Talk- 3PM (Yes, you can grow tomatoes in North Texas!)”.  Speakers on Sunday include presentations on “Growing Your Urban Orchard- 12 Noon”, “Edible Herbs- 1:30PM”, and “Earth-Kind® WOW Gardens- 3PM”. Additional presentations TBA. Visit www.ccmgatxorg/TheGardenShow  for updates.

Each year CCMGA selects a local organization to be their charity partner for The Garden Show. 100% of proceeds from the $2 entry donation will benefit The Seed Project Foundation. This local non-profits mission is to fund educational, agricultural, and community initiatives that support sustainability. Providing seed money for causes that enhance the principles of sustainability is their mission.

Food will be available for purchase on-site from the popular restaurant, and McKinney favorite, Hugs Café.

The Garden Show is an indoor event, so come rain or shine!  Hours are from 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM on Saturday, March 16 and from 11:00 – 4:00 PM Sunday, March 17.  Entry on both days is a suggested donation of $2 per person.  Parking is free!  Bringing your own cart or wagon is strongly encouraged.  Visit www.ccmgatx.org/TheGardenShow for up-to-date information.

A special thank you to The Garden Show 2024 sponsors: Texas Pure Products, Bio Plant Nutrition/Beyond Organic Farm, Daystar Landscapes, Hugs Greenhouse, Lavender Ridge Farms, Lush Landscape Concepts, Puckett’s, and Rooted In.

PLEASE NOTE: NO PETS ALLOWED. Local ordinance prohibits animals in food service areas, and we have several food vendors at The Garden Show. (Service animals specifically trained to aid persons with disabilities are allowed to enter.)

The Garden Show is partially funded through a Promotional Grant from McKinney Community Development Corporation.
