Roses at Open Garden Days invites you to explore rose culture in Brazoria County and enhance your garden.
Schedule: Lecture ‘Old Garden Roses’ by Houston Rose Society’s Renee Cummins; starts at 10:30 am. Light refreshments will be served before the lecture
Concurrent garden demo’s start at 9:30 and repeat 11:30 am, and include:
- Pass-along Props: Rose Propagation – from rooting to planting, explore propagation techniques that will grow your rose legacy for generations
- More than Pipe Dreams: Rose Bed Irrigation – learn the right tools that will deliver water where you need it to go. Drip lines and emitters will be discussed.
- Dig It! Rose Planting – learn how to properly plant and prune to extend the life of your roses

2018 Citrus & Fruit Tasting Seminar
The Brazoria County Master Gardeners Association celebrates home orchard production with a FREE Citrus and Fruit Tasting Seminar on Saturday, December 8. Citrus expert and Texas Master Gardener Gil Livanec presents an advanced viewing of citrus and fruit, as well as blackberry and blueberry varieties offered for sale in early 2019. We offer a diversity of orange, grapefruit, lemon, lime and additional citrus fruit and juices to sample. Home-made samples of orange marmalade, grapefruit glazes, fig preserve, and other treats will be available for tasting. Experts will be on hand to talk about the culture and benefits of the different varieties available at the event. Come early for this popular annual county event.
