The Texas Master Gardener Program is open to all people regardless of socioeconomic level, race, color, sex, religion or national origin. To become a certified Master Gardener you must
- complete the 50 hours of instruction offered by the County Horticulturist through the County Extension office.
- participate in 50 hours of volunteer service within the 12 months following the completion of the course.
Allison Watkins, Tom Green County AgriLife Horticulturist and coordinator for the Concho Valley Master Gardeners Association, offers The Master Gardener Training Class once a year. The 2022 class will begin in February 2022. Use the contact form below for questions about becoming a master gardener.
To maintain certification and active status as a Concho Valley Master Gardener, the Master Gardener must pay the annual dues (currently $5.00), provide 12 hours of volunteer service and participate in a minimum of 6 hours of continuing education each year.
