Contact: Janice Smith
The Un-included Club is a nonprofit organization that provides after-school and summer programming for at- risk kids in east Temple. Among other things, they focus on literacy, building math and science skills, urban agriculture and leadership. The club has a plot of land leased to them through a USDA grant near the Blacklands Research area, where they have a community vegetable garden. This project focuses on teaching the kids about basic gardening and conservation principles, growing vegetables and fruits, and healthy eating and nutrition.
