The 11th annual Henderson County Master Gardener’s (HCMGA) Plant Sale is planned for April. The online sale will be April 11, 12, 13 and 14. Pick-up days for online orders are on April 16 and April 18 from 9:00 – 11:00 am at the Greenhouse on the Trinity Valley Community College campus. The final day for pick-up of plants is at the TVCC Pavilion (behind the gymnasium) on April 20 from 9:00 am – 1:00. A close out sale of remaining plants will be held at the Pavilion on April 20. The time for the close out sale is 9:00 – 1:00.
This year’s sale has 70+ plant species. There are native plants, Texas Superstars, perennials, hanging baskets, and annuals included. Certified Master Gardeners will be available to answer horticulture questions on April 20.
The “Let’s Grow!” series will offer a presentation by certified Master Gardener Lydia Holley titled “Selecting Plants for Your Garden.” It is planned for Tuesday, April 9 at the Parish Hall at St. Edwards Catholic Church, 800 E. Tyler St., Athens, from 6-7 pm. Easiest access and parking is off N. Wofford St. The presentation is free and open to the public, and will be given rain or shine. Seating is limited, so bringing a camp chair is suggested.
At the presentation, attendees will be provided information about the plant sale, plants available, and how to order and pick up plants. A handout of plants for sale with general information will be provided to attendees.
HCMGA is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. The annual plant sale provides funds that enables HCMGA to offer educational programs and presentations to Henderson County and nearby residents.
