Texas master Naturalist Goodwater Chapter: Citizen Scientist Program

March 28, 2019 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

On March 28th, starting at 6 pm the Good Water Chapter, Texas Master Naturalist, will host Mr. William (Bill) Runyon, who is coordinator of CoCoRaHs (Community Collaborative Rain, Hail, and Snow network) to speak about this organization and how his citizen scientist program works. The meeting will be at the old training room location, 3151 SE Inner Loop.

The CoCoRaHs report rainfall etc. daily to give a better coverage of the rainfall around the country and are a valuable resource to the meteorologists who study the climate.

To participate in the program you must purchase a special rain gauge. If you are interested in the program or just wish to purchase the rain gauge, the Good Water Chapter is going to purchase them in bulk to get a better price. The gauges will be available to purchase for the special price of $32 and delivered when we receive them. Contact Larry Swift, our Treasurer, at [email protected] if you wish to purchase the rain gauge.  Must be purchased prior to the meeting.  They will not be available for sale at the meeting.
