With the anticipation of rain in the forecast, the SCMGA looked forward to their Rainwater Harvesting Program on June 9.
Thirty-nine people attended and listened to a brief presentation by Greg Marsh, an SCMGA member, who is a Certified Rainwater Specialist. Then the work began. Attendees worked with each other under the direction of SCMGA President, Donna Hagar installing hardware into a 32 gallon barrel. The finished product has a water faucet, an overflow valve and a screened opening for water to drain into the barrel. Sadly, the rain did not come but everyone left with a better understanding of Rainwater Harvesting Practices and all were eager to place their barrels in the perfect spot at home for collection of rainwater.
