Q: My lawn is not greening up well and is thin this spring, what can I do to help it, is something wrong?
A: If it is just not as green and a little thin the most likely problem is lack of water and the need for a good fertilizer. Now is a very important time to feed the lawns to get them ready for the summer heat. Use a good slow acting all nitrogen lawn food. Do not cut corners on quality, you do not need to purchase the most expensive product, but cheap is just cheap and will not last more than a month or so and the lawn will not look very good. The other thing to do is mow regularly do not let the lawn get shaggy or tall before you mow it. Keep it cut at the same height consistently and that will also help the lawn take the heat better.
