EIsenhower Birthplace Workday

August 27, 2020 @ 8:30 am - 12:00 pm

Last week we got a lot done, despite the fire ants!  The sign bed and the Visitor Center look much better!
This week it is time to prune and fertilize the roses.  Harriet Steward has graciously agreed to lead us in this task as I am woefully inexperienced in rose pruning or shearing.
Bring sterilized pruners and long sleeves and bug spray, and gloves.  And a laundry basket or something similar for pruned rose limbs. Maybe just a big cardboard box.  We will have a few.
They still advise masks and social distancing and prudent hand washing at the Birthplace site. Bathrooms will be open.

The parking lot is at the corner of Nelson and S. Lamar.   Map apps may send you down Shepherd or Day Streets.  They don’t go through.  Shepherd looks like it could go through, but the gate is ALWAYS closed on this street.
Feel free to call if you have any questions.
Thanks,
Roma Waidner
