Bloom Time: preparing and planting for colorful garden beds
This three part gardening series will discuss ways to prepare garden beds for growing flowers and vegetables in Grayson County. Topics will include bed locations, the design process, water and sunlight needs, analyzing soil, making needed soil amendments, plant shopping, fertilizer, and pests. A list of hardy plants for this area will be shared.
Becky Hogenson is a member of the Grayson County Master Gardeners. She also completed horticulture classes at North Central Texas College. Becky enjoys backyard gardening, landscape design, and preserving foods from her garden. She also assists with maintaining the Harmony Park garden located on the east side of the Sherman Public Library.
