Walk of Friends

In Nacogdoches the Hospice of East Texas Walk of Friends is in the Nacogdoches County Master Gardeners’ demonstration garden.  The garden is located in a park-like setting owned by the City of Nacogdoches on East Main Street, just west of University Drive. The Master Gardeners have spent many hours planning for the beautification of the site, and securing and planting plants, shrubs and trees.  They have transformed the once-barren space into the beginning of a beautiful garden which has the possibility of becoming a true community gathering space. Located in the center of the garden, The Hospice of East Texas Walk of Friends is an eight-foot-wide circular pathway of bricks and engraved hand painted bricks. The Walk of Friends surrounds a smooth area paved with crushed granite. The crushed granite area is the location of a human sun dial.  Engraved with the name and dates of a loved one or friend, hand-painted recognition bricks may be purchased by contacting the Hospice of East Texas.
