FREE Bring Your Lunch & Learn: How To Identify Venomous Snakes

July 23, 2020 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm

Free

This FREE Lunch & Learn is a great topic for school-age kids!

Snakes are common visitors in east Texas so SJC Master Gardeners will present Riki Treadway, an award-winning Reptile Relocation specialist, on Thursday, July 23, 2020 to offer tips on coexisting with snakes and identifying the venomous ones. Accompanied by some of her “pets,” Riki will demonstrate identification, environmental benefits, and ways to safely relocate rather than kill.

Opened in 2015, Riki’s Reptile Relocations began from her home and served her Spring, TX neighborhood. After the 2016 Tax Day floods, relocation of the Alligator Snapping Turtle exploded and her fanbase quickly grew across Houston and as far as Austin. Riki’s free service is focused on educations on the benefits of snakes and other reptiles and to discourage killing. Her service was named Reptile Report’s Educator of the Year 2016.
