Ornamental Grasses

Fountain Grass (Dwarf Hameln) -(HxW:2’x 2’) Full sun. Likes regular watering & well-drained soil. Provides seed and nesting material for birds. Add mulch and compost around base in spring.

Gulf Muhly- (HxW: 18”-3’) Full sun. Texas NATIVE. Texas Superstar®. Plant in well-drained soil and add organic compost to soils that are clay laden. Drought tolerant once established. Prefers low-fertility sites. Will die back in winter. Clumping growth habit. Cutback to 6” above the soil while dormant. Divide.

Mexican Feather Grass -Mexican Feather Grass- (HxW: 12-24’ x 30”) Full sun. Tolerates partial shade. Water evenly to establish then very drought tolerate. Low to average water needs. Has a soft texture that sways in wind.

Purple Fountain Grass -(HxW:) Full sun.  Average water needs. Prefers evenly moist well-draining soil. Often grown as annual in North Texas as it does not like below freezing temperatures. Fast growing.
