Nanci Almond – Hays County

nanci almondNanci Almond certified as a Master Gardener in 2008, and since then she has shared her passion for gardening with the Hays County Master Gardener Association and our county community at large. Landscaping projects at the Wimberley Community Center and the Wimberley Playhouse were major efforts in her first few years. Nanci has shared her knowledge of gardening with the public, manning information tables at the Wimberley Library as well as the Dripping Springs Farmer’s Market. She loved helping with Tomato Time, a tasting competition held annually at the Farmer’s Market. Through the years, our organization has benefited from her numerous contributions of plants, crafts, and cashier skills at the plant sales. Nanci also shared her culinary skills with us at meetings and as part of the “Growing Herbs in Central Texas” session of our Training classes. During COVID, she entertained us with a wonderful virtual tour of her home garden. Although she is retiring from Master Gardeners, Nanci will continue to do some gardening at home as she says, “Gardening is my best life!”
