Marilyn certified in the fall of 2015 and became the HCMGA Newsletter Editor shortly thereafter. In her professional career, she was responsible for developing email newsletters for 3M and other corporations, and she brought that professional approach to both the look and content of our newsletter – she truly “upped our game”! She was highly active in the editor’s position until she transitioned from the post in 2021. Additionally, Marilyn was a very active member of the Speakers Network providing talks focused on preserving the harvest: one on canning and pickling and the other on fermentation. She’s been a strong contributor to our EMG chapter and played a key role in helping HCMGA develop the image as horticultural experts for Hays County.
