Liz Romero has been a Master Gardener since 1989. She is our longest serving member and has been an integral part of the Guadalupe Master Gardeners since joining us. She has been a committed volunteer in a variety of projects and leadership roles. She is also an active Master Naturalist and member of the Native Plant Society.
Leadership Roles:
- Served as Education Director in 2004-2005
- Master Gardener Class Coordinator in 2001
- Served on the Guadalupe County Fair Committee
- Point of Contact (project coordinator) for the Park West project and was instrumental in getting the project going
Volunteer Accomplishments
- Liz taught multiple topics for numerous years of Master Gardener classes. Her topics were on Drip Irrigation and Rainwater Harvesting – she attended Advanced Training in both subjects. She also instructed classes on Wildflowers, Soils of Guadalupe County, Plants that can Take the Heat and Plants for Shade.
- Liz was very active in the KWED radio gardening program that reached many people in Guadalupe County.
- Liz helped take the Park West project from an idea to fruition.
- She served as a consultant to many of our garden projects on drip irrigation and rainwater harvesting.
