Judy Ewoldsen became a Collin County Master Gardener in the Class of 2006. And served as CCMGA treasurer and as a board member from 2009 through 2010.
In 2010, Judy approached the CCMGA board with a proposal for a dedicated garden-only show. Within days of its approval, she had secured a financial sponsor and formed a small team. Horticultural businesses were invited, and CCMGA planned educational booths for their first Garden Show. The Garden Show has become an annual CCMGA educational tradition.
In 2012, she was named the CCMGA MG of the year.
She attended the Texas Master Gardener State Conference in Marshall, Texas, and decided CCMGA should host a future edition, which, with her leadership, occurred in 2016. The state conference was well attended and highly successful.
Growing up, Judy’s family grew vegetables out of necessity, so she learned how to garden from a young age. Judy and her husband Jim lived in Indonesia in 1997 and then Australia in 1998, where they learned gardening in different climates and different plants.”
