Jean Anne became a charter member of the Lubbock Master Gardener Association (LMGA) in 1993 and served as LMGA President that same year. She has faithfully served LMGA for thirty years in almost every capacity, including President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Newsletter Editor and Parliamentarian. In addition to her service to LMGA, Jean Anne served as Texas Master Gardener Association Secretary from 1995 to 1996.
Currently Jean Anne serves as chair of the Scholarship Committee, a program that she is clearly passionate about. She is always available to provide our leaders with historical perspective, and she continues to mentor new members. Whenever and wherever LMGA has a need, Jean Anne steps up to help.
Because she is such an integral part of LMGA, my hope is that Jean Anne’s retirement will come at a time in the distant future. Please consider nominating Jean Anne Stratton for TMGA Emerita status as an appropriate way to honor her lifetime of service to LMGA.
