Jayla Fry graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Horticulture and a master’s degree in agriculture education. She recently received her Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership degree. Her work experience began by facilitating a horticulture program at a federal prison camp. She currently works with Master Gardener volunteers and coordinators throughout the state of Texas. She teaches an introduction of the Texas Master Gardener Program and Plant Growth and Development.
In 2019, she was the editor for the seventh edition of the Texas Master Gardener Handbook. She authored the Introduction and co-authored the Plant Growth and Development chapter within the handbook.
Jayla serves as the advisor to the Texas Master Gardener Association and supports the state Master Gardener conference and leadership training.
