Hildegard planned and maintained the Texas Garden at the Garden Learning Center (GLC) from its inception until it closed. He has advanced greenhouse management and propagation training and served as a co-lead of the Greenhouse Committee and a member of the Seminar Committee. Hildegard participated in the Speakers Bureau on topics including propagation and bulbs and wrote articles for the association newsletter until it was discontinued in 2010. He served on almost every committee at some point, often as lead or co-lead. Hildegard participated in most projects undertaken until health concerns intervened.
