Gardening Tricks and Tips Revealed

by Lydia Holley                                         January 13, 2025

Henderson County Master Gardener Association will start their “Let’s Grow” series this year with a number of Master Gardeners sharing their favorite tips and tricks on Tuesday, January 21, 6:00-7:00 p.m., Cain Center YMCA, 214 Loyola Dr., Athens. This presentation is free and open to the public.

Everyone loves a short cut. Whether it is a driving route, a time-consuming chore, or even a short task, people appreciate saving time and effort. Sometimes a job can be so daunting you may not know where to start, or even if you do, you may wish you had someone to tell you an easier way to get the work done without skimping on quality. This presentation is your chance to gain a wealth of knowledge from those with first-hand experience on the labor needed to keep a garden both tidy and productive.

During the presentation, Master Gardeners will reveal several ways you can cut down the time and effort needed to complete the numerous tasks required in the garden. Sometimes it is a new way to undertake the job. Occasionally, timing will make a difference. Or it may be a specific tool which makes life easier. Master Gardeners will share their experiences, favorite tools, and the tricks they use so you can whip your garden and landscape into shape with minimal effort.

During this show-and-tell style presentation, you will be able to see, touch, and ask questions about the tools and tips given. Questions are welcome and discussions are encouraged. Purchasing information will be given so you can go home armed with a slew of solutions to combat your specific problems.

Come learn from the collective knowledge and expertise of the Master Gardeners who live in your community and garden in the same type of soil and weather conditions you do. You are sure to learn something new.
