Do you have gardening questions? Henderson County Master Gardener Association (HCMGA) will be at two separate booths on Saturday, May 7, to meet the public and answer their questions.

Master Gardeners will be at the opening day of the Athens Farmers Market, located at Trinity Valley Community College, 100 Cardinal Dr., Athens, TX , from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

On that same date, Master Gardeners will also be at the Caney City Art and Craft Festival, located at Lakehouse Outfitters, 5300 SH 198, Log Cabin, TX, from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

Want to know if your soil needs to be fertilized, and if so, what type of fertilizer should you look for, and in what quantity do you spread it? To answer these questions, soil tests will be available. These are easy to do and will give you scientific results specific to your garden.

Do you have a question about a plant—either a diagnosis or a problem? Bring either the plant or photos for diagnosis.

Want to know what gardening chores are required each month? Are you wanting instruction specific to East Texas? Pick up one of HCMGA’s gardening guide books.

Interested in becoming a Master Gardener? HCMGA members will explain the steps and requirements necessary to gain that certification.

Be certain to sign up for HCMGA’s free email newsletter, or just stop by to say hello. Tell us what you are growing, your dreams for your garden’s future, and the issues you have faced. Master Gardeners love to talk about anything and everything having to do with gardening.

Master Gardeners have completed specialized training in horticulture. If they do not know the answer to your question, they will research it and find out what you need to know.
