Culture

Verbena EnduraScape™ Purple Fizz is the first verbena that’s hardy through the hottest days of summer and can take the cold down to the low teens, and still rebloom in Spring. Brings lasting color to landscapes all season long. Superior branching: finished product has a full habit with a high bloom count in gallon containers. Blooms long into Summer and won’t cycle out of color in your garden. Verbena EnduraScape™ Purple Fizz requires minimal care. Deadheading spent flowers can encourage continuous blooming. Water regularly during establishment, then reduce as the plant becomes drought-tolerant.

Noteworthy Characteristics

An exciting bi-color addition to the EnduraSeriesTM series with large flower umbels.  Superior branching. ‘Purple Fizz’ has a full habit with a high bloom count.  Prefers well-drained soil and is drought-tolerant once established.  Known for its vibrant, two-toned purple and white flowers that bloom prolifically throughout the growing season. Apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer early in the season to support growth.  Trim back lightly to maintain shape and promote new blooms.  In Zone 8, the plant can handle light frosts, but if a hard freeze is expected, mulch around the base of the plant to protect the roots.

Problems

Excellent powdery mildew resistance.
