Culture

Sweetie Cherry Tomato is an open-pollinated, indeterminate cherry variety that produce heavy clusters of super sweet cherry tomatoes. Sweetie is known for its low acidity and high sugar content, usually around 12-14%. Vigorous plants produce heavy yields of 1-1.5″ round cherry tomatoes that grow in clusters of 15-20. The clusters make these easy to harvest, although you’ll probably eat them all before you get inside! Plants are prolific and will continually produce tomatoes until the first frost in fall.

Tomatoes can produce heavy fruits and will require some form of support to keep the plant upright. This ensures that plants and fruits stay off the ground, reducing the possibility of disease and keeping fruits clean. Sweetie Cherry tomato grows well on a panel trellis.

Noteworthy Characteristics

Classic cherry tomato that lives up to its sweet name is well known for its hearty flavor and early harvest. ‘Sweetie’ produces large numbers of ¾”–1″ cherry tomatoes in grape-like clusters. Provide support for vigorous vines that easily reach 6′ long.
