Culture

SunPatiens® Compact Red (Impatiens x hybrida) is a delightful annual plant that combines fancy aesthetics with low-maintenance ease.  Sunpatiens® plants are dense, mound-forming, well-branched perennials (usually grown as an annuals), boasting large, vibrant red flowers. The blooms appear from mid-spring to early fall.  Large, vibrant red flowers adorn the Compact Red SunPatiens®.  These blooms contrast beautifully against the dark bronze foliage of the plants.   The leaves remain dark green throughout the growing season. These plants are heat-tolerant, making them ideal for warm climates. You won’t need to fuss over removing spent flowers; they keep blooming without deadheading. Their strong scent repels deer away.

Noteworthy Characteristics

Sunpatiens® Compact Red is a delightful choice for your garden or patio. These robust plants thrive in full sun or shade, even in challenging weather conditions. The colorful leaves may be dark green, bronze, or variegated. They grow in three-to-seven leaf whorls, with leaves ranging from two to four inches long.  Sunpatiens produce larger flowers, creating a showy, striking massive color display in summer flower beds. They are hardy plants that establish quickly, with strong roots and vigorous growth.

Problems

Spider mites and thrips are the primary pests attracted to Impatiens.

Garden Uses

SunPatiens® Compact Red work wonderfully in window boxes, patio pots, landscapes, containers, and mass plantings.
