Culture

Table Ace Acorn Squash is well-known as the best tasting acorn squash on the market. This hybrid variety has a semi-bush growing habit that allows many fruits to be produced in a small amount of space. Table Ace Acorn Squash have a dark, green outside with a bright, orange interior flesh. Fruits mature at 5-6″ in diameter with rounded ribs and a blunt blossom end.

Squash may be direct seeded or transplanted, although direct seeding is highly recommended.

Winter Squash are a crop that will produce a one-time harvest at the end of the growing season.  They should be harvested when plants die back and the fruits obtain their full color. Stem hardness is also an indication of fruit maturity. Once stems harden, fruits are ready for harvest using a set of pruning shears. Winter Squash can be stored in a cool, dry place for several months, depending on variety and sugar content.

Noteworthy Characteristics

Its semi-bush vines are quite compact and produce a lot of delicious squash in a limited space. Excellent low fiber flesh. Color is excellent, and the thick, bright orange flesh is smooth and delicious. The rind is a real black-green and holds its color well in storage. Stores well all winter.
