Culture
Best grown in well-drained, moderately fertile soil in full sun, Petunia TriTunia™ Blue prefers consistent moisture but does not tolerate waterlogged conditions. Regular deadheading promotes continuous blooming. Fertilize every 2–3 weeks with a balanced liquid fertilizer to support vigorous growth and flowering. Can become leggy by mid-season—light pruning can encourage bushier growth and more blooms. The TriTunia™ Blue produces a velvety green foliage and adorns itself with an abundance of beautiful deep blue Grandiflora blooms. It’s blooms are scattered among the foliage and bloom through early Spring, Summer, and Fall.
Noteworthy Characteristics
The Petunia ‘TriTunia™ Blue’ is a versatile, compact, and early-blooming petunia variety known for its uniform growth and prolific flowering. It combines the best traits of grandiflora and multiflora petunias, offering large, vibrant blooms with improved weather resistance. Suitable for garden beds, borders, containers, and hanging baskets, it provides season-long color and withstands moderate heat better than some traditional petunia varieties.
Problems
Generally easy to grow but can be affected by aphids, spider mites, and fungal diseases like powdery mildew. Avoid overhead watering to prevent fungal issues. Petunias can become leggy if not trimmed occasionally.
Garden Uses
Ideal for mass plantings, edging, borders, containers, and hanging baskets. Works well in mixed containers with other sun-loving annuals. Great for adding bold, continuous color to landscapes and patio areas.
