Pepper Ornamental ‘NuMex Twilight’ produces a dense compact plant with purple foliage; small fruits emerge purple, then progress to yellow, and red when they mature, with yellow being more predominant in this variety; stunning colors in a container display.  NuMex Twilight Ornamental Pepper is primarily grown for its highly ornamental fruit. The fruits of the Pepper Ornamental ‘NuMex Twilight’ are showy purple peppers with a yellow blush and which fade to red over time, which are carried in abundance from mid-summer to early fall. Its attractive pointy leaves remain green in color throughout the season. It features subtle white star-shaped flowers dangling from the stems from late spring to mid-summer. The fruits of Ornamental Chili Pepper NuMex Twilight are unique in appearance because they stand out above foliage creating a colorful eye-catching display.

Noteworthy Characteristics

Capsicum plants make excellent bedding and border plants during the summer. They like to be in a warm environment. Place the Ornamental Pepper plant in a sunny window and keep the soil moist but not waterlogged.  The peppers may look more like little Christmas lights than chili peppers, but you’re in for a real surprise if you pop one in your mouth. It is their looks where they shine, with a multitude of chilies growing on one plant in a wide array of colors. It’s a prime option for colorful landscaping and container gardening. This plant will require occasional maintenance and upkeep, and should not require much pruning, except when necessary, such as to remove dieback. Deer don’t particularly care for this plant and will usually leave it alone in favor of tastier treats. It has no significant negative characteristics
