Culture

With an abundance of dependably pretty and easy-to-use blooms, Dutch Iris ‘Spring Royalty’ Mix is a favorite among florists and home gardeners alike. Their long, strong stems and brilliant colors make them perfect additions to cut arrangements. Plus, they’re incredibly easy to plant, grow, and maintain. Water as needed during active growth periods; about 1″ of moisture per week is a good estimate.  Leave the foliage in place at the end of the blooming season rather than cut it off. The leaves will gather sunlight to create food through photosynthesis, strengthening the bulbs for the future.  Remove the foliage in the summer when it turns yellow and dies back as the plant slips into dormancy.  Allow your ‘Spring Royalty Mix’ Dutch Irises to rest for a few months before beginning the next growing cycle.

Noteworthy Characteristics

Make way for our Dutch Iris ‘Spring Royalty’ Mix! The unique fusion of contrasting yellow and blue tones creates an elegant, display in garden beds and borders. Don’t forget to cut a few for long-lasting bouquets. Bulbs multiply each year for an ever-expanding show in beds, borders and cutting gardens.

Included in this mix are ‘Telstar’, which boasts an exquisite combination of deep blue blooms with golden yellow accents, and ‘Oriental Beauty’ with Ravishing with pale blue standards that extend upward like wings and draping golden yellow falls with prominent veins. Lightly fragrant.

Problems

Leaf spot, root rot and mosaic virus may appear. Iris borers
