C-30 Hybrid Bunch Grapes

C-30 is a new cultivar.

Characteristics

  • Type: Deciduous
  • Interspecific Hybrid Bunch Grapes
  • Excellent Fungal Disease Resistance
  • Sun: Full Sun
  • Soil: Slightly Acidic, Well Drained
  • Pierce’s Disease Tolerant

Culture

The C-30 hybrid bunch grapes are a new interspecific hybrid red wine bunch grape that is currently being researched.  The grapes grow in small clusters, are sweet when ripe (16-19 degrees brix), and they hold their acidity well. The C-30 can grow in a wide range of soil textures from sandy to clay soils. 

Noteworthy Characteristics

The C-30 was developed at Florida A&M University and is undergoing research trials there as well as at Texas A&M. Propagation is restricted by Florida A&M; and, as yet, the C-30 has not been released for general use. 

Problems

The C-30 is a new cultivar and limited information is available as of 07/27/2020.

Uses

Potential as a wine grape, also good for jelly; both products will be deep purple in color.
