The Harris County Master Gardener Association (HCMGA) holds several public plant sales throughout the year. The funds we raise are used to support Texas A&M AgriLife Extension in its educational mission to bring relevant, research-based information about horticulture to the public.
Our plant sales are special events. Master Gardeners are trained in horticulture best practices specifically for Houston. So, we pride ourselves in offering the best varieties of vegetables, herbs, bulbs, and ornamental plants for our area at our plant sales. We will also have gardening tools and other materials for sale. We have a free information booth at our sales with expert gardening advice, making this the perfect place to shop for beginner gardeners, and seasoned gardeners looking for successful transplants.
You can depend on us to have the best varieties for our climate that have been selected especially for you by our Master Gardeners. This year we are proud to be carrying more native plants alongside our favorite non- natives to assist you in your gardening goals. Did you know that Texas law protects your right to plant native and drought tolerant plants anywhere on your property and specifically forbids an HOA from prohibiting them? Not only is this law amazing for adding to your garden’s beauty and durability, but its so beneficial for our pollinators!
Plan to come early for the best selection, we can’t wait to see what you choose! Master Gardeners will be on hand to answer questions and make recommendations.
Harris County Master Gardeners are a 501c Non-Profit Organization and plant sales are our only fundraisers to help fund our community programs. We sincerely appreciate your ongoing support.

What Makes Our Sale Unique?
The Harris County Master Gardener Association (HCMGA) holds several public plant sales throughout the year. The funds we raise are used to support Texas A&M AgriLife Extension in its educational mission to bring relevant, research-based information about horticulture to the public. Programs like Cylinder Gardening for kids, gardening projects like our Genoa Friendship Gardens, and all of the other listings under the Community Services tab above are made available to the residents of Harris County because of the proceeds from these sales.
Over the years, thousands of people from Harris County and the surrounding area visit our sales. Many are repeat customers and look forward to our sales and repeatedly offer comments about why they love the HCMGA Plant Sales.
“Master Gardeners have a solid reputation for offering great plants at reasonable prices.”
“Master Gardeners were kind, helpful and answered my gardening questions right there at the sale!”
“When you buy plants, there are Master Gardeners on-hand to tell you where your plant will thrive, how to care for it and what to do for long-lasting healthy plants.”
“Master Gardeners can help with bugs, pests and other problems in your garden.”
Never been to one of our sales? You should make it a point to visit one this year. We look forward to seeing you!
