The 2017 Bulb & Perennial Mart is right around the corner!  While autumn is ushering in cooler temperatures and gardens are resplendent with colorful mums and pansies, it’s not too early to think about spring.  Join the Collin County Master Gardeners Association on Saturday, October 14, 2017 in the Show Barn at Myers Park & Event Center in McKinney, Texas from 9:00AM – 3:00PM, to learn more about, and purchase, the best selections of bulbs, iris, perennials, and small shrubs for North Texas.

During this much anticipated event, CCMGA will be selling a selection of hard to find heritage bulbs and drought tolerant perennials.  Many of the perennials offered at the sale are proven winners in the international award winning Earth-Kind ® Research and Demonstration Gardens at Myers Park.  These Texas-tough plants will add color and beauty to the garden throughout the year.

Returning to the Bulb & Perennial Mart this year is a limited selection of Tall Bearded Iris that were chosen for their beauty, and “wow factor”.  They are all visually striking, and are dependable and tolerant of most soil types.  New to The Mart this year is Amaryllis. Amaryllis “Christmas Star” and “Merry Christmas” will make great holiday gifts for the gardeners on your list!

Additionally, CCMGA will be offering compost and mulch from Texas Pure Products for sale at The Mart.  Volunteers will be on hand to answer questions about the benefits of these nutrient rich products, and best practices on how and when to apply them to the garden.

Saturday, October 14th Schedule of Events:

9:00AM- 3:00 PM – Bulb and Perennial Sale

9AM – 3:00PM – Pick up August Pre-Sale orders

9AM – 3:00PM – Tours of Myers Park Research and Demonstration Gardens

Sponsored by Whole Foods, The Bulb & Perennial Mart is an indoor event so come rain or shine! Join us for a day of fun, education, and share the joy of gardening.  Master Gardeners will be on hand to answer questions.  The event is free and no sales tax.  Cash or check, Visa, MasterCard, and American Express accepted. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own cart

Proceeds from the sale benefit community outreach programs, and horticultural and water conservation education throughout Collin County.
