Smith County – Monarch Waystations for Texas: Planting for Monarchs
TYLER, Texas — Texas A&M AgriLife Extension, Smith County Master Gardeners, and the City of Tyler Water Utilities will host an upcoming Summer Garden Series program on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Cotton Belt Building, 1517 W. Front St., Suite 116, Tyler, Texas 75702.
The featured presentation, “Monarch Waystations for Texas: Planting for Monarchs,” will be led by Carol Clark, a Texas Master Naturalist, Native Plant Society of Texas member, and Conservation Specialist with Monarch Watch.
Participants will learn how to support monarch butterflies by creating and maintaining monarch waystations using appropriate plants and habitat practices for Texas landscapes. The program will focus on practical steps homeowners, gardeners, educators, and community members can take to provide nectar plants, milkweed, and other important resources for monarchs and other pollinators.
The event is part of the Summer Garden Series, an educational program designed to help residents learn more about gardening, conservation, water-wise landscapes, and environmentally beneficial practices.
