Smith County – Greenhouse & Nursery Pest Management Seminar

OVERTON, Texas — Greenhouse operators, nursery professionals, agricultural producers, landscape managers, and horticulture enthusiasts are invited to attend the Greenhouse & Nursery Pest Management Seminar on Friday, July 31, 2026, at the Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Extension Center, 1710 FM 3053, Overton, Texas 75684.

Hosted by Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, the one-day educational program will provide the latest research-based information on integrated pest management (IPM), greenhouse plant diseases, emerging insect pests, regulatory compliance, and best management practices for producing healthy ornamental crops.

Registration begins at 8:00 a.m., with presentations continuing throughout the day. The registration fee is $50 per person and includes seminar materials and lunch. Participants will receive six Texas Department of Agriculture Continuing Education Units (CEUs), including one Laws and Regulations CEU and five Integrated Pest Management CEUs. (CEUs: 1 Laws & Regulations, 5 IPM)

Featured speakers include experts from Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, Texas A&M AgriLife Research, Texas Department of Agriculture, and industry professionals. Topics will include biopesticide integration, greenhouse disease prevention, emerging ornamental crop pests, nursery and greenhouse regulations, ecological pest management strategies, and cultural practices that support successful IPM programs.

“The greenhouse and nursery industries face increasing challenges from insect pests, diseases, and regulatory requirements,” said organizers. “This seminar provides science-based, practical information that growers and industry professionals can immediately apply to improve plant health and production efficiency.”
