Webinar–Read & Grow with Master Gardeners in Collaboration with Books Are GEMS

For our new Read & Grow with Master Gardeners series, Cindy Williams and Cindy Limbird will be joining our local Books are GEMSStory Time Saturdays. They will be reading aloud childrens’ books online on Zoom and Facebook Live. Cindy Williams will entertain with Oh Say Can You Seed? by Bonnie Worth (The Cat in the Hat Learning Library) and illustrated by Aristides Ruiz. Cindy Limbird will entertain us with The Tiny Seed by Eric Carle (author and illustrator). After the book readings, Mrs. Williams and Mrs. Limbird will demonstrate a fun gardening activity with marigolds!

*The first 50 families will receive activity resources for this week by going to Books Are GEMS on Friday between 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.* Books Are GEMS is located at 7744 North Loop, Suite B, in El Paso, TX.

The marigolds for this week’s activity were propagated by the El Paso Master Gardeners in their greenhouse.

 

El Paso County Master Gardener Presenters

Cindy Williams is a retired teacher/librarian with 31 years of education experience. Now that she is semi-retired, she is busy working and serving in several areas. She is a Master Gardener and helps to teach about growing plants among other gardening activities. She is married to Gary Williams and loves to serve the Lord, cook, read, walk, hike, and travel. She has two beautiful grown children and one adorable grandson.

 

Cindy Limbird-EP Master Gardener

Cindy Limbird is a native El Pasoan and retired educator. In nearly 40 years of teaching, she taught grades ranging from Pre-K to 3rd. During the last several years of her career she served as a Reading Specialist. She is a past board president of Books Are GEMS and is also an active El Paso Master Gardener. She is married and has two “grand-girls” in New York State that she loves to read stories to using Zoom.
