“No matter where it lands or how desperately it hopes, the tiny seed can’t find a place to grow. Will the tiny seed ever find a home, or will it keep searching and floating forever?”
This Week’s Book and Activity
For our Read & Grow with Master Gardeners series, El Paso Master Gardener Helen Abresch will read to her audience A Place to Grow by Stephanie Bloom, with illustrations by Kelly Murphy, on Zoom and Facebook Live. Join her as we go on a fun outing with a little seed on a desperate journey to find a place to grow.
Following the story, Master Gardener Alison Wells will instruct children on how to be a detective or a gumshoe in their own garden. They’ll be shown how to use the Master Gardeners’ Read & Grow Dossier and keep track of their garden findings.
Free Activity Resources and Book Raffle
The first 50 families will receive activity resources for this week by going to Books Are GEMS on Friday, April 30, between 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. The activity resources will be a copy of a Master Gardeners’ Read & Grow Dossier and a small magnifying glass to start their investigative garden journey. Books Are GEMS is located at 7744 North Loop, Suite B, in El Paso, TX.
If you miss the activity resources handout on April 30, here is the Master Gardeners’ Read & Grow Dossier to use during the Story Time activity period. Click the title to open this page and follow the downloading and printing instructions.
There will also be a book raffle this month. We will be raffling off this week’s book: A Place to Grow. (Must be in attendance for Story Time to win.)
