Gardening Workshop & Plant Sale

April 7, 2018/9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Free
Ascarate Garden

2018 Plant Sale Flyer

Come to the Ascarate Teaching and Demonstration Garden to learn about growing summer vegetables and herbs. You can visit the learning stations that will be set up throughout the garden to watch demonstrations and ask questions. The learning stations will show container gardening tips, drip irrigation pointers, composting, and more. To get a head start on your garden, pick up some of the herb and vegetable seedlings we’ve been propagating in our greenhouse!

Be on the lookout, too, for the new El Paso Gardening Handbook created by the El Paso County Master Gardeners for our area. It addresses El Paso specific gardening concerns and best practices. With chapters on ornamentals, edibles, turf, native and adapted plants, woody plants, and climate, it will appeal to both experienced and novice gardeners. The handbook was written in cooperation with Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service and provides research-based information. The handbooks may be purchased for $10 each.

For the plant and handbook sale, checks, cash or money orders will be accepted.
